Please tell us about yourself and your family:
My name is Mrs. Megan Halpin formerly known as Megan Boecker. I grew up outside of Battle Creek, Nebraska, on a small ranch. Throughout my adolescent years, I was a very active member of the Madison County Needles and Knives 4-H Club. Many life skills and social skills were learned through this program. I graduated in 2006 from Battle Creek High. I then graduated from Wayne State College where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education Unified. I had the privilege of working closely with Mrs. Karol Stubbs during my student teaching experience. I also had the privilege of working in all elementary classrooms while being a special education paraprofessional for 1.5 years. This past May, I graduated from Wayne State College earning a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I’m now in the new role as the First Grade teacher here in Winside. This is an exciting change for me. I began my teaching career in Winside by opening the first preschool and then teaching preschool for many years. Future plans are to continue my education and to earn a second degree, graduating with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education through Wayne State College.
